Popping can happen anytime. The new Gobwin Knob appears on the day after the battle ends, in the middle of the turn.

That was an insta-pop due to spending Shmuckers, much like Natural Allies popping units. We can assume such insta-pops can occur at any point during a side's turn, whenever they spend the money. However, it seems that auto-pops (the units produced by a city, for instance) happen at the beginning of a side's turn, though this isn't definite. Commander I. Heartly Noah 23:05 June 15, 2009 (UTC)
It may be implied that it is definite. After all, units popping in the middle of battle (can be good or bad, if you can control where it pops), or at the END of it (even WORSE as the irony sets in) would be like behind-pulls. Also, in turn based strategy games, when do your units spawn? All the games I play say at the beginning of turns (outside of TCGs).Xewleer 23:18, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
