“Direct intelligence is hard currency out here. You should know that.”
Strengths: Diplomacy, Strategy, Reading and Writing Sudoku
Weaknesses: Unimpressive Signamancy, Too Calm
First Appearance: WB2014 Lord Crush - Part 1
He is an intellectual warlord, spending much of his time studying in the library of Second City where he acts as regent. Though technically a prince, Crush's study of history has left him soured on Royalism, causing him to use the title of Lord instead. He's a very calm and analytical person, and unlike his friend prince Racket unable to get angry and forceful during a discussion.
Lord Crush and Racket shared an intellectual friendship, both of them traded books and corresponded frequently.
They didn't have much of a relationship to begin with. Axe was remote and shared none of his brother Racket's intellectual curiosity. He viewed Lord Crush as a "Wart on a war pigs poop-hole."WB2014 Lord Crush - Part 3, later barging into his prison cell and threatening to beat him to a pulp, laugh at him and cut off his head for making a "stupid" plan for Squashcourt to double cross Bullyclub and avoid destruction. Their relationship changed when Axe realized it was a good plan, and he went to stand up to his father, revealing he had solved a Mathamancy based Sudoku puzzle.
They both became friends during the campaign against Bullyclub.
Crush respected King Scrofula, thinking him a very merry king who trusted him a great deal. He sent the king a letter of condolence when Racket died. His sympathy for the king in the wake of his son's death quickly vanished when he was asked to betray the union and turn to Squashcourt. He came to see the king as stupid and his plan as evil. He tried to convince the king to stop his plan, and used his good graces to try and formulate a counter plan, but the King came to see him as dangerous once he got vital information thanks to Dunkin McClown.
Dunkin the jester came to be Crush's greatest ally, helping him get the information to make a plan to save Squashcourt and the Union from Bullyclub. At first Crush didn't know how to take Dunkin's open contempt of his ruler or his ridiculing nature, but Crush came to greatly respect Dunkin for his deep sense of Duty despite not being a combat unit.
Real World References
Lord Crush may be a reference to Nikita Khrushchev (Crush, Chief), the Premier of the Soviet Union (So-be-it Union) and First Secretary of the Communist Party (First Post) during the Cold War. The fact that the Union ultimately annexes Bullyclub might refer to the Soviet occupation of East Germany.
