Caster proficiency: Novice – Adept – Master
Grandiocosmic Strings or G-Strings are the conduits of all magic power in Erfworld. Only Thinkamancers, and Charlie, know of their existance. The majority of (if not all) Thinkamancy Spells are actually the Thinkamancer manipulating the G-Strings of the other Units.
Wanda Firebaugh might have some knowledge of Grandiocosmic Strings. Wanda is capable of handling a number of magicks outside Croakamancy including Thinkamancy Suggestion Spells and powerful scrolls that normally require a caster of a related discipline to implement. She also chanted the following song or poem in her attack on Ansom which hints strongly at the knowledge of threads or strings binding minds together:
"Rejoyce. Dispair. Fate does not care. Each knotted mind entwined. Each soul another's bind. And blind, though we are led, in time, we do know when to cut a thread!" Erf-b1-p119 (speech impediment removed)
Wanda also believes that her fate and that of Jillian are tied together. This seems consistent with what Duncan Scone observed when he examined the two women with the Laurel of Napster. Could it be that Love has the power to link G strings?
Real World References
The term G-String could refer to a number of different Real World items including:
- A type of women's, or even Men's, underware or swimware with a piece of cloth that covers the genitals, passing between the buttocks and attaching to a band around the waist
- A string which held the loincloth of Native Americans.
- A stringed instrument's specific string which is tuned to the musical "G" note. This could possibly tie in with the Titans being Elvis who was known to play a guitar.
The entire notion and idea of each individual in Erfworld having strings that are the conduits of all magic power could also tie in with various mythology surrounding ideas that each life is a thread in a greater tapestry of the world which is manipulated or woven together by the people or gods themselves.
