Speculation and Discussion

Taken from the Magical Speculation thread in the forums:

Could the lighning and "Van Der Graf" Arkenhammer attacks be Shockamancy? Commander I. Heartly Noah June 3 2009

Element and Axis

Shockmancy is Naughtymancy, the magic of Motion and Matter; the absence of Life. It is aligned to the axis of Erf. So, it is concerned with Moving unliving Matter on Erf; possibly for the elimination of Life on Erf. This seems in line with what we know of Shockmancy. Commander I. Heartly Noah June 3 2009

4chan Real World Reference

So there's a mention of the "4CHAN" sound effect in this article's RWR section... but I don't think that was actually Shockmancy. Sizemore's exploding a Crap Golem there (as in "shock 'em, crap 'em, escape"), right? I'd think that'd be a Dirtamancy-based debuff if anything. Menlo Marseilles 21:15, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Flash Mob

What evidence supports that Flash mobs are Shockamancy?

I can see arguments for Signamancy, Foolamancy and Shockamancy.

  • Signamancy only considered a possibility from information provided in Hvs.tCF 222. Seems unlikely unless non-magical units can create Flash Mobs, as Signamancy is not a known Archon special
  • Foolamancy seems likely as the intended purpose is hiding actions, possible counter to this is it's used to cover Jack's casting, but this could be an intentional misdirection (The fact that Jack suggests this tactic weakly supports this)
  • Shockamancy is supported by the actions of Rusty Trombone, but not his combat casting. Scroll used by Sizemore in TBFGK 139 suggests thematic link but we currently have no clear use of Shockamancy in a non-offensive capacity
