No. A Force Multiplier is (Wikipedia): Force multiplication, in military usage, refers to a combination of attributes or advantages which make a given force more effective than another force of comparable size. A force multiplier refers to a factor that dramatically increases (hence "multiplies") the effectiveness of an item or group.

All it has to do is dramatically increase power, [u]not[/u] multiply it. In fact, in our world where Parson sources the term from, measuring "force" is virtually impossible on the battlefield in the first place. There are theories and analysis that can estimate this, but how much "force" it takes simply requires too many factors one cannot judge at the moment of the attack. How much does high Morale multiply a unit's effectiveness, if it's got a weapon prone to jamming in its hand, vs. how much is the defender enhanced if his gun is a 7.62 vs. 5.56? Good leadership can turn the tide, but how does it multiply force? What I'm saying is that Force Multiplier in our world doesn't mean a "force" is "multiplied", so don't extend that to Erfworld's rules.

Further, not all game systems are linear or multiplicative. They can be exponential, logarithmic, tangential, or any of a thousand possibilities dictated by probabilities dictated by random number generators or Tables of results.

Force Mulitplier is a military term, and that is how Parson uses it. It does not indicate anything about the mathematics of Combat Bonuses in Erfworld. --Kreistor 04:45, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

"Stack bonus maxes at 8" - assuming the kind of bonuses currently in the speculation are roughly accurate, and that stack bonus is solely determined by number in stack... 8=2^3. 1 unit in stack=no bonus, 2 in stack=+1, 4 in stack = +2, 8 in stack=+3? perhaps?? alternatively, it is a simple +1 for each additional unit in stack, maxing at +7, but from a game design standpoint, given that this bonus is added to all units in stack, making each successive level of bonus more expensive makes sense(especially as you also get the extra units attacks) --thoughts? Eserchie also, assuming the speculation calculation is right, +12 for stack bonus and basic attack, with maxed stacks, the stack bonus can't be larger than 6 (no unit had less than 6 base attack)

My assumption had always been that a stack bonus only applied to the first 8 in the stack, not that it was only generated by them.
