First Appearance: Hvs.tCF 139
Trance fusions are a form of Thinking Alike and a secret ability of the Thinkamancers. This allows the Great Minds that Think Alike to perform significant amounts of planning in a short period of time and cast Eyemancy spells on a massive scale. One Thinkamancer acts as the initiator, and the other participating Thinkamancers move their g-strings into the initiator's head. If a trance fusion is disjuncted in a disorderly fashion, the other participating Thinkamancers risk getting their threads ripped, with pieces left inside the initiator's head.Hvs.tCF 288
Before 96 AW, there were three known possible levels of trance-fusion, designated by the Great Minds as states 5, 6 and 7. While in a State 7 trance-fusion, the Temple of the Thinkamancers was destroyed, along with all but one of the 17 casters participating in a the trance-fusion. This created Big Think, a State 8 entity amalgamated from the strings of the 17 casters, inhabiting the body of Isaac. By linking with one or two other casters, Big Think was able reach States 8.1 and 8.2 respectively, but the strains on Isaacs old body mean that upon its creation, Bg Think knew it was unlikely to last another turn.
