Is Jillian a Protagonist?

Should we consider Jillian a Protagonist of Inner Peace (through Supreior Firepower)? --Wrecan 06:31, 23 March 2012 (EDT)

Rex Cakes as of Book 0 Page 18

Rex only has one appearance because in page 17, he was mentioned, but he did not speak and was not seen, which does nto count as an appearance. --Wrecan 09:40, 27 December 2011 (EST)

Ok, my mistake! --Muzzafar 11:06, 27 December 2011 (EST)

The Battle for Gobwin Knob

I don't have the book. Can anybody who does have it let me know if there are any bonus appearances, we need to credit? --Wrecan 14:45, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

Is this still a valid question? I have a book, could check through the bonus pages. --Muzzafar 11:09, 27 December 2011 (EST)
It is. Nobody ever told me if any changes need to be made. --Wrecan 17:38, 27 December 2011 (EST)
Ok, I had a moment to take the book from the shelf.
There are several bonus pages.

This is it. I will also update Book 1 Bonus Pages. Any further questions - please ask! --Muzzafar 13:56, 7 January 2012 (EST)

Thanks. That was great. --Wrecan 08:28, 8 January 2012 (EST)

Audial Appearances

I just realized that we do count as an appearance where a character has dialog even if they don't physically appear in a strip. On that basis, I have been inadvertently omitted appearances of characters who have been quoted in the Summer Updates. Here are the additions I am making by strip (up to and including Summer Update 11). Keep in mind, these appearances don't include thoughts, unless the person thinks out loud. They don't include people who speak and appear in the illustration (since that character has already been counted). They only include people who speak out loud (as indicated by quotations) and do not appear in the accompanying illustration.

Opinions? --Wrecan 16:50, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

  • In the version found at Giant in the Playground, I would note whether a character was croaked or uncroaked. I don't think that's necessary here because you can just click on the character and read their entire history. So I am croaking those endnotes. --Wrecan 16:27, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

This page needs to be linked to the others --Doran 19:28, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

Start a fresh count, or just keep going with this one? SteveMB 22:31, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

  • (First Intermission Page 1 would be one appearance of Parson)
I like starting over, and then you can easily add up the separate totals for a grand total if you like. Commander I. Heartly Noah June 4, 2009 01:30 (UTC)
Why should we start over? This just counts appearances. Should we start a new page for each book? (I'm being facetious. I'm adding the Intermssion appearances.) --Wrecan 12:56, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

What constitutes an appearance? I'm having trouble jiving the Transylvitan warlords' appearances. I'm guessing when they're little specks and we only know they're appearing through knowledge of the comic, that doesn't count. But does the back or side of the head count? Or are we only concerned with major face time? What if half the face is cut off by the panel edge? Commander I. Heartly Noah

  • The specks count, if we know for certain who those specks are. Half a face, a thumb, anything works as long as we know definitively which character it is. --Wrecan 23:39, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

Transylvitian Warlords

Okay. I'm trying to figure out an accurate count of the Transylvitian Warlords (not including Vinny). We know from TBFGK_107:11 that the stack had eleven warlords, including Vinny and Jillian. So that's nine others. They have been named (or I've nicknamed them) Caesar, Dewy, Leather, Mario, Muscles, Baldie, Blondie, Lady in Red, and one other we never see. They first show up in TBFGK_107. Panel 1 has Caesar. Panel 2 has Dewy. Panel 5 has Blondie Muscles. Panel 6 has Leather Valese. In TBFGK_110, there are a bunch of specks, but it appears to be the entire stack, so they should each get an appearance. We can identify Jillian and her Griffon, but none of the warlords. TBFGK_111:7 has Caesar, Vinny and "Mario". TBFGK_113:1 has, left to right, Vinny, Dewy, Lady in Red, Caesar, Mario. TBFGK_115:10 has Caesar and the Lady in Red. TBFGK_138:7 shows the seven surviving warlords other than Vinny: Lady in Red, Blondie, Baldie, Caesar, Muscles, Dewy and Leather. TBFGK_139:1 shows Baldie, Caesar, Muscles and Dewy. Summer Update 10 has Caesar. Summer Update 11 has Caesar, Dewy and Leather. So the count for the Warlords we can identify seems to be: Caesar (9), Dewy (6), Lady in Red (4), Leather (4), Muscles (4), Baldie (3), Blondie (3), Mario (3). Did I miss any? I'll hold off editing the page while I wait for people to comment.--Wrecan 22:41, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

107. If Panel 5 has Leather, Panel 6 has Muscles. I think that's reversed. Panel 5 is Muscles and Panel 6 is Leather. Note the camera swings around from 5-6 so it can't be the same Vamp in both. Blondie is also in 5, between Jillian and Caesar. --Kreistor 23:37, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
Godo point. I'll add an appearance for Blondie and Muscles in this section and wait for more comments before putting it on the main page.--Wrecan 01:33, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
Don King supposedly sent 10, unless he was including Vinny in that count. It's a moot point anyway, as the 1 or 2 others are never seen up close. TBFGK_104 features all 8. 107 features everyone except Baldie, Red, and Mario. 110 "apparently" features 12 warlords plus Jillian - I work this out as Vinny, 10 warlords, and a gwiffon disguising itself as a warlord. 111 features Caesar, Mario, and some others - but not "all" the others, so only the two we can guarantee count. Likewise, 113 has 6 specks but we can't be sure who's on that side. We do know the close side has Caesar, Mario, Dewy, and Red. 115 has Caesar, Red, some specks, and someone who is either Muscles or Leather - but we can't tell. 138 has the survivors - the original 8, minus Mario, who Vurp whacked. 139 has Caesar, Dewy, Baldy, and Muscles. Summer update 11 has Caesar, Dewy, and Leather. 10 shows Caesar. Commander I. Heartly Noah
Caesar - 10, Dewy - 7, Leather - 5, Mario -4, Blondie - 4, Muscles - 5, Red - 5, Baldy - 4.
I forgot 104! Good call. That does add an appearance for everyone (and SUmmer Update 12 has added a new appearance for Caesar). So the current count it Caesar - 11, Dewy - 7, Leather - 5, Mario -4, Blondie - 4, Muscles - 5, Red - 5, Baldy - 4. --Wrecan 12:20, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Okay. So how many appearance of Vurp are there? He, apparently, was the Knight atop the blue dragon. I think I spot him in TBFGK_110:9, TBFGK_111:11, TBFGK_113:3, and TBFGK_116:3. Until we see Vurp's warpaint, I can't tell if he's one of the hobgobwins we spot in TBFGK_76:12 or TBFGK_77:2. So for now, he gets 4 appearances.--Wrecan 16:59, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

  • Actually, given his red shortsleeves, as seen in TBFGK_113:3, he is probably the leftmost knight in TBFGK_77:2. This would up his appearances to 5. But I'm not certain about this. Opinions?--Wrecan 17:04, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
    • I wasn't sure on that one either, Wrecan, so hadn't included it in the speculation (since, technically, there are five knights shown in TBFGK_77:2 (two shoulders, and three full individuals), and it is not completely clear that the three shown in the center are the three that Stanley takes with him). I think the odds are good, though, that you are right and Vurp is the one on the far left in the back of that panel... I just don't know if there's conclusive evidence. --MisterB777 17:16, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
    • Not a sure thing, but the axe carried by the fuzzy red shoulderpadded knight in TBFGK_77:2 matches the one carried by the blue dwagon-riding knight in TBFGK_111:11, and tellingly, does not match either of the other two. Still, it's possible there are two knights with red fuzzy shoulderpads and axes with no 2nd blade. But as far as I'm concerned, we could call it until we see his face. On the other hand, here is another confirmed appearance: TBFGK_98b:1 Commander I. Heartly Noah 18:40 June 11, 2009 (UTC)
      • Noah has convinced me. I'm upping Vurp to 6 appearances!--Wrecan 18:12, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

Are the Arkentools "Characters"?

We've been listing the three known Arkentools, but is that appropriate? Are they characters, whose appearances should be tracked? What does everybody think?--Wrecan 23:12, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

I probably would never have added them, but since we're already tracking them, I don't see why not. They're definitely more important than many characters on the list, and the Arkenhammer was in the "cast" list on the old GitP thing. CRACK-THOOM! CIHN

Captain Overpants

So there are 4 Haggar Warlords appearing in Text 18 and in LIAB 25 and successive pages (some pages only show Sammy or Sammy and one other) - after Sammy's death, one of these takes over and talks to Jillian. Obviously we can count all instances of the 4 of them (in one they kind of look like Queen in Bohemian Rhapsody) as appearances for Captain Overpants. I also wouldn't doubt the guy taking over is Overpants, but we don't have proof of that yet. CIHN

Actually, I count 6 Haggar Warlords in Text 18, and there may be more milling about on the side. And those were just the ones Hilary could see. They all seem pretty interchangeable. I count 3 in page 25. If anybody can pinpoint which Haggar warlords appear in multiple strips, I'd be grateful!

Broadway Tony

Can we change Muscled Transylvitian to Broadway Tony? I guess technically we're still just speculating they're the same guy. Wish we could confirm it. CIHN

Good idea. I changed it and will change it back if it turns out Broadway Tony is someone else.--Wrecan 12:55, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
