Panel 1

Stanley grins and points at Parson.[edit]

Stanley the Tool: Okay. You're now our Chief Warlord.

Chiefly because we don't have anyone else.

Panel 2

A closeup of Stanley's face, which now has an annoyed expression.[edit]

Stanley the Tool: That's a joke.

You laugh at my jokes.

Panel 3

A wide view from above of Parson, Stanley, and Wanda. Parson is bent over and shaking.[edit]

Parson Gotti: AHHH HA ha ha!!

Hee hee! Hahaha.

Panel 4

Stanley looks over his shoulder as he walks toward the door, through which daylight can be seen.[edit]

Stanley the Tool: Good enough.

C'mon, let's go review your troops!

Panel 5

Parson and Wanda converse in the foreground. In the background, Stanley is walking through the door to the outside.[edit]

Parson Gotti: What the boop? That joke booped.

Wanda Firebaugh: As I said, the summoning spell compels you to obey his orders.

You'll laugh at his jokes until ordered not to.

Panel 6

Parson and Wanda walk though the doorway. Parson reaches up to touch the top of the doorway arch.[edit]

Parson Gotti: Wow.

That... will take some getting used to.

Like the ceilings.

Panel 7

In the foreground, Stanley looks down from the observation deck of the Tower of Efdup. Behind him, Wanda is standing just outside the doorway, and Parson is hunched over a bit, still making his way through the exit.[edit]

Parson Gotti: Wait why didn't you laugh?

Wanda Firebaugh: I don't laugh.

Stanley the Tool: This is your capital city. Gobwin Knob!

Panel 8

Parson is poking his head out the doorway, getting his first look at the world outside the summoning room. Stanley is just inside the safety wall surrounding the observation deck, standing on a small platform with steps on one side to boost himself high enough to look over it. Filling most of the frame beyond them is an overview of Gobwin Knob, showing the courtyard, the square walls around it, and miscellaneous structures in the outer section of the city.[edit]

Parson Gotti: Ahahahaha! Ha ha! Hee--

Stanley the Tool: It's not a joke, son.

Parson Gotti: Oh.

Sounded like one.

Stanley the Tool: It's the toughest defensive position in the known world.

Parson Gotti: Hey, nice.

Panel 9

A large mass of troops fills the foreground, including several uncroaked and a gobwin. In the distance stand the square walls surrounding the courtyard, with the Tower of Efdup rising above them. Several dwagons are flying around the top of the tower, above the level of the platform where Stanley, Parson, and Wanda are located.[edit]

Parson Gotti: Hang on, Tool. Is this built on top of a dead volcano?

Stanley the Tool: Yes!

Panel 10

Parson is now standing close to the edge wall. He is pointing down at the city and facing toward Stanley, who stands on his platform facing him. Wanda stands back with her arms folded, facing toward Parson.[edit]

Parson Gotti: So the caldera is a natural defense.

And there's a...

a maze of twisty little passages under the city?

Stanley the Tool: You've heard of us!

Panel 11

Closeup of the right side of Parson's face. He has a hand raised to his chin, and looks very thoughtful.[edit]

Parson Gotti: Not.
