Panel 1

Sizemore and Parson stand in front of a table on which Wanda's spell stash is laid out. Sizemore holds one of the scrolls as he turns toward Parson.[edit]

Sizemore Rockwell: Thinkamancy... Foolamancy... Shockmancy... and Healomancy.

Parson Gotti: Okay why didn't you tell me you had all these spells, Wanda?

Panel 2

Wanda's arm is bandaged, and she is out of her armor. Parson is shouting at her and pounding his fist on the table.[edit]

Wanda Firebaugh: You... never--

Parson Gotti: Don't say I never asked!

Sound: sthu[1]

Parson Gotti: If you're so Duty bound you should've volunteered it!

Panel 3

Wanda looks at Parson. Her face is still scraped up from the recent battle, and she is in the black outfit with the white skull print that she wore during her post-interrogation chat with Jillian.Erf-b1-p038Same-site.PNG In the foreground, Parson is seen from behind. waving his arm in evident frustration.[edit]

Wanda Firebaugh: Not if it's hhhopeless.

N' you cannot win.

Parson Gotti: I can!

Perfect warlord, remember? You wouldn't listen!

Panel 4

We see the three casters from Parson's viewpoint. Wanda stands with her arms folded. Sizemore looks over his shoulder at Parson. Maggie looks on from the back of the room.[edit]

Wanda Firebaugh: You are not... the perfect warlord.

Your plans... f-fail.[2]

Maggie: Mm.

Sizemore Rockwell: That is true, Warlord.

Panel 5

Parson stands staring with an absolutely dumbfounded expression.[edit]
(There is no text in this panel.) [edit]

Panel 6

The viewpoint get a bit closer to Parson as he gathers his wits to respond.[edit]

Parson Gotti: Holy crap, guys!

Plans do fail.

Panel 7

Parson Gotti raises his arms to gesture emphatically as he goes into his spiel.[edit]

Parson Gotti: "Perfect strategy" does not mean one perfect flawless genius plan!

It doesn't mean you never lose!

Panel 8

A wide view of the dungeon room shows Maggie, Wanda, and Sizemore standing near the table and facing toward Parson. Parson stands in front of the red cabinet, continuing to speak and gesture.[edit]

Parson Gotti: Look, you've taught me a lot, so let me teach you something, 'k? This is strategy.

First... you have a goal.

Then, you list objectives in support of that goal, in order of importance.

Panel 9

The scene is a distant view of Gobwin Knob and the road leading up to it, with little visible other than the walls and the Tower of Efdup rising from the city center.[edit]

Parson Gotti: Then, you weigh the costs and accomplish the most you can, however you can.

Without even fighting, if possible!

You've got bluff, subterfuge, diplomacy... lotta the time it's just "watch what the enemy's doing, and hit him where he's weak and you're strong."

Panel 10

The viewpoint of the scene shifts a bit closer to the besieged city. The breach in the outer walls and the siege units around it are visible.[edit]

Parson Gotti: But, y'know... he's doing the same to you. And you can't be strong everywhere. So you fall back where he's stronger, and sometimes you do lose. But you roll with it.

Yes, you plan. Okay?

But the enemy won't follow your plan.

So the trick is to be fluid, hit him on the fly, define his choices... watch for opportunity, like when he boops up.

You have to know more than he does about what's going on.

Panel 11

Parson looks down at Wanda and Maggie as he continues to make his point.[edit]

Parson Gotti: Which is why you don't withhold information from the guy who plans your battles! You see?

Now what is our strategic goal here?

Wanda Firebaugh: Ho-old the garrison.

Parson Gotti: Close.

It's to render the enemy incapable or unwilling to take the garrison.

Panel 12

Large numbers of Coalition infantry are inside the city. Prince Ansom sits on his flying carpet as he examines the gate of the inner garrison wall. Below him, |Hobbittm Warlord, Duke Nozzle, and the Unaroyal Warlord appear to be having a discussion. Several Archons fly overhead.[edit]

Parson Gotti: The objectives in support of our goal are, in order of importance: conversion, division, and attrition of enemy forces. Neutralization of enemy assets and capabilities, particularly siege and leadership.

The fighting retreat was a good low-cost tactic, but nowhere near enough. I need to know anything else we can do to them.

So start telling me every skill, bonus, or resource I might not know about.

We have... maybe an hour before the end of the world.

Which is cool. That's about when I would usually start cramming for a final.

  1. ^ STHU is an acronym for Shut The Hell Up
  2. ^ Note the contrast between Wanda's attitude here and her response when Stanley asked if the "Perfect Warlord" would be "undefeatable".
