It's important to note that most trigger words are probably personal choices for the casters as it's told in Hvs.tCF 267 that everyone uses whatever they like for Hoboken.
Used by Wanda Firebaugh to destroy much of Jetstone's airforce, including the Archon Jaclyn. References the act of getting a monsters attention in an mmorpg, example: Hate(MMORPG Term) a boss to start the fight. It was used after Wanda uttered several well known gaming cheat codes that let the characters access what is known as God Mode in their respective games. Erf-b1-p095
Used by Lilith to spot nearby veiled Charlescomm Archons during her escape from Charlescomm. References Julian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks, an organisation that specialises in publishing and revealing classified documents. Hvs.tCF_104
It is not clear if this is a magic word or a sound effect from a spell. After Janis casts a Hippiemancy spell on Jefftichew, there is a pyschodelic image that is seen, with the word "AVEDON" appearing in the image. It is probable that this image is a reference to a famous Richard Avedon photograph of George Harrison.LIAB 64
A Turnamancy spell cast by Vanna during the battle with Stanley in Book 3Hvs.tCF_16. This was done while linked to Charlie via the Arkendish. Its use revolves around converting an enemy Side's natural allies to service the caster's interest by applying Turnamancy principles to the tribe's Chief, in this case Vurp. However, it seems the Hobgobwins were made to work for Charlie, and not Vanna's aligned side (Faq), so it's unclear exactly how the natural ally's new Side is designated. Arbitration (binding or otherwise) is a legal means of settling disputes via the decisions of a third party, possibly showing that this spell is only possible to cast with an 'arbiter' present (in short, via a Thinkamancy link-up).
An incantation used by Jack to veil Parson, Maggie, Wanda and himself before entering the Magic Kingdom Hvs.tCF_103. Boatmobile is a reference to the Invisible Boatmobile that Mermaid Mad drives in Spongebob Squarepants, hence the invisibleness of those under veil.
Used by Maggie during the link up of Sizemore Rockwell and Wanda to uncroak the volcano near the end of book one. TBFGK 135 Could reference Callahan's Crosstime Saloon, a story where unique people gather in a bar owned by Callahan. Telepathy has happened in the saloon several times and it is an all or nothing ordeal. You either share all information with everyone or don't have telepathy and share nothing. Given the nature of Caster Links, it appears to be the same type of all or nothing ordeal.
Used by Jack Snipe to obscure his stack, and presumably make individual targeting impossible. It is unclear if Fool for the city is also part of the invocation, or just a description of the baffle. References the band Foghat and their fifth album.
First seen being used by MaggieErf-b1-p133 and Wanda as an offensive attack. The hoboken is the basic offensive spell known to almost all casters at the time they pop. Deals small damage, but knocks the enemy back. References hadoken from the Street Fighter series, and the city of Hoboken, New Jersey. Many variations on the triggering word, such as "ryuken", "recroaken", "ho-token" and "sobroken", etc., are also used.Erf-b3-p237Erf-b3-p267
A Turnamancy spell cast by Vanna during the battle for Spacerock in Book 2 LIAB 21. This was done while linked to Charlie via the Arkendish. It prematurely ended Gobwin Knob's turn without Stanley's consent, basically setting into motion the chaos that followed for the rest of the Book. King World Productions was responsible for the syndication of the popular game show [Wheel of Fortune], which Vanna herself is an allusion to.
LemonParty, Tubgirl, Meatspin, Goatse
Used by Sizemore, read from a scroll. The words are the names of a series of extremely obscene websites often used by Internet trolls to disgust their victims. As such websites are colloqially called "shock sites", it is likely that the scroll held a Shockmancy spell. The words also create the sound effect "NSFW" (Not Safe For Work).Erf-b1-p126 Note that due to the extremely NSFW nature of the websites in question, no link has been provided in this article.
Leverage; Synergy; Paradigm and others
Used by Charlie's Archon's to fight the wounded dwagons. Like all of Archon Spells, they are plays on management jargon. They are powerful attacks, but seem to be connected to what Jetstone paid for. Erf-b1-p121
Lit is a slang term meaning amazing, or intoxicated, although here it is also being used for its actual English meaning of illuminated. af (usually lower-case) is an acronym for "as fuck", commonly used for emphasis.
Mind the gap
Used by Marie on the edge of Portal Park, causing her eyes to glow green. The spell lasted long enough for her to dash through Faq's portal,Hvs.tCF 235 throw a RyukenHvs.tCF 237 and avoid heavy gunfire. We next see Marie after she has repatriated an imprisoned Gobwin Knob unit.Hvs.tCF 239 The purpose of the spell is uncertain, but Pecoraro and Palladino were both spiritualist/medium tricksters, with the former claiming the latter to be his spirit guide.
Used by Wanda in the Summon Perfect Warlord Spell that grabbed Parson from our world to theirs. References Jack Scruby, who is considered the man who began miniature wargaming. Scruby is also a Ruby shell for packet sending and sniffing, which may be a reference to the Findamancy and summoning aspects of the Summon Perfect Warlord Spell. Erf-b1-p017
Used by Wanda Firebaugh to uncroak Jetstone units that were croaked in the tunnels underneath Gobwin Knob. References the fictional corpse-reanimating chemical "2-4-5 trioxin" from the Return of the Living Dead film series (which may in turn be a reference to the chemical 1,3,5-Trioxane, a substance related to formaldehyde that is used by morticians). Erf-b1-p116
Possible Magic Words
Words used in attacks, but may not necessarily be 'magic'.
Van de Graaf: Used by Stanley in the fight with Transylvito. It is a very strong attack that sends the Chief Warlord of Transylvito Caesar Borgata, and his bats, which count for heavy infantry thanks to bonuses, flying back. Uses lightning. References the Van de Graaf generators, or, a rock band by the same name.
Tesla: Used by Ossomer in fighting Ansom at the Battle of the Expository Bridge. After saying the word, a ray of some sort, with the sound effect of "Teleforce," shot from Ossomer's bracer, knocking Ansom off his carpet.LIAB 8 "Tesla" is a reference to Nikola Tesla, a scientist who worked extensively with electricity and claimed to develop a direct energy weapons and, specifically, his "teleforce" particle beam projector.
