Panel 1

A far view of the Situation Room of Gobwin Knob. A large golden sculpture of a dwagon adorns the far wall. In the middle of the room lies the war table, and standing behind it are Parson Gotti and Maggie. Maggie holds an indistinct Thinkagram image in front of her, which Parson is facing.[edit]

Chief Warlord Parson Gotti: So everything we have depends on one, extremely vulnerable unit.

But we haven't veiled that unit, because...?

Jack Snipe: Because she believes it isn't her Fate to perish here.

Panel 2

A close view from behind and to the right of the Thinkagram image of Jack Snipe, with a clearly annoyed Parson Gotti speaking to him. Visible over Parson's right shoulder is a pillar with a golden dwagon entwined around it.[edit]

Chief Warlord Parson Gotti: In other words, because she's crazy and nobody stands up to her.

Put a cheap baffle on your stack, at least. Do it now.

Jack Snipe: Aye.

Panel 3

In the foreground, Jack Snipe waves his eight-ball cane right and left, as translucent white clouds cover his jacket. Out beyond, clouds cover the assembled dwagons one by one. Seemingly nested in one of the clouds, the translucent blue thinkagram of Parson Gotti gestures as it speaks.[edit]

Chief Warlord Parson Gotti: And yet, Jetstone hasn't attacked her yet.

And that's because...?

Jack Snipe: Foghat.[1] Fool for the city[2].

Because... it wouldn't be Noble.

Panel 4

Jack Snipe's hat and head are visible through a translucent cloudy haze, while in front of him floats a dwagon-shaped cloud, opaque and fluffy. From it projects the blue torso of Parson Gotti. Beyond are stacks of dwagons and archons unhidden by clouds.[edit]

Chief Warlord Parson Gotti: Right, because the enemy is crazy too.

Got it.

Panel 5

Jack Snipe smiles from behind his cloud cover.[edit]

Jack Snipe: Indeed. As a sane man, you are badly outnumbered again, my good Lord.

Perhaps you should defect, and join us all.

Panel 6

Parson Gotti holds his chin in his left hand, his right arm held across his body. Maggie holds her fingers up, transmitting Parson while simultaneously projecting a tiny blue translucent bust of Jack Snipe.[edit]

Chief Warlord Parson Gotti: Mn. Yeah.

You're sure they won't attack before parleying?

I mean they completely have us.

Jack Snipe: Yes. And that is why.

Panel 7

A throng of Jetstone infantry crowd a Spacerock street, looking up at the squadron of dwagons and archons (and suspiciously dwagon-like clouds in their center) overhead.[edit]

Jack Snipe: They will offer you some perfunctory, unacceptable surrender terms.

When you refuse, they will feel justified in shooting us all down.

Chief Warlord Parson Gotti: Like what terms?

Panel 8

High above the city walls, Cubbins, wearing a cub scout uniform, looks out over the city. Mainway is flooded with golden helmets, and the road to Spacerock stretches out beyond. At eye level float dozens of dwagons and archons.[edit]

Jack Snipe: Oh, offering Lord Stanley the chance to disband us first.

Or perhaps offering to buy us all from him for ten Schmuckers?

An insult-to-injury sort of thing, masquerading as mercy.

Panel 9

A resigned-looking Lord Hamster speaks to a disembodied floating blue Jack Snipe.[edit]

Chief Warlord Parson Gotti: Okay.

Well... then that's when we get them.

Panel 10

Shrouded in misty cloud, Jack Snipe raises one eyebrow to its very summit, mouth open.[edit]
No text. [edit]

Panel 11

The thinkagram of Jack Snipe holds out his left hand. Parson Gotti holds his right elbow in his left hand and points his right index to the sky.[edit]

Jack Snipe: When we get them, Lord?

Chief Warlord Parson Gotti: Yeah.

I do see an exploit here. But we need Wanda alive.

Panel 12

The baffled[3] Jack Snipe leans back, holding both arms out to his sides, and smiles.[edit]

Chief Warlord Parson Gotti: It involves turning this battle into a food fight.

Jack Snipe: I see. Well! Bravo, Lord!

T'was a splendidly speedy defection.
