A contract is an agreement between two parties that contains terms each party must follow. Terms of a contract appear extremely difficult, or impossible to disobey. Contracts are a form of natural Signamancy.
Contracts may be drafted and signed by a ruler, Chief Warlord, or Chief Caster, and require the sides that draft them to pay a small fee in schmuckers to use Natural Signamancy, or for them to have a Signamancer expend juice.
Nondisclosure agreements are compelled, presumably via natural Thinkamancy. Other contract clauses are usually enforced by penalties in the form of shmuckers, cities, and units. Schmuckers are transferred between treasuries automagically. Cities and units are transferred via claims.
A contract is capable of judging violations by intent. For example, if an enemy unit is inside a building and it collapses, it won't count as a trap attack violation unless the building was specifically built with that in mind. Carnymancy can be used to work around this, manipulating how a unit perceives their own intent.
